St. Gelati Monastery of Kutaisi is an architectural monument, known as the ancient Gelati Academy, and a cultural center. It was founded by Davit Agmashenebeli in 1106 years and is currently included in the UNESCO World Cultural Monuments list.
Currently, it is considered a branch of the Kutaisi State Historical-Ethnographic Museum.
It is remarkable for its complex uncarved decorative arches, the owner of a large fund of Georgian manuscripts and works of engraved art.
