SVETITSKHOVELI

Svetitskhoveli- is the oldest cathedral, the kings of Georgia were blessed here and the resting place of many kings, royal families and patriarchs of Georgia. Also, the robe of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, the trident, the chalice of the prophet Ilya and other holy things.

This is the cross-domed architectural monument of Samtavro monastery and the episcopal cathedral of Mtskheta, as a result of archaeological research, it dates back to the beginning of the 5th century, on the ruins of which it was built in the first half of the 11th century.
