AKHMETA - TUSHETI

Tusheti, as one of the most beautiful corners of Georgia, is located at an altitude of 1650-4493 m above sea level, the villages are located from 1900 m to 2400 m. across the main range of the Caucasus, and is included in the protected list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The rivers: Gomesri Alazani and the opposite Alazani, originate in the Tsokalto and Shenak areas, where these two rivers join together, creating a natural view of extraordinary beauty, as well as being quite prevalent.

Preserved ancient national cultures, samples of folk handicrafts, objects of existing culture, and unique monuments of cultural heritage. Along with the historical landscapes, the traditions of the population have been preserved, including the ancient technology of making Gouda cheese, which is made in sheepskin, Gouda, and characterizes the taste of the cheese

Tusheti is one of the historical regions in Georgia. It is located in the Akhmet municipality across the Kakasion ridge.
